Name: Hollowcroft RavenAge: 1200
Visual Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance:
- Spoiler:
From the very first meeting, the thing that will stand out about this man are his eyes. His beautiful, deep, coy, and usually stoic blue eyes seem to see into your very soul. They are as empty as the Great Abyss, and as coy as a dark night. But there are times when his anger flares and they will cease to be coy or stoic. His blue eyes suddenly turn into a midwinter's storm, causing one to almost wish they were stoic once again.
His skin in general seems just a step above pale, and a step below the color of a standard Caucasian. There are no scars on his body (yet), and he is void of any and all natural imperfections on his skin. He does have some "unnatural" imperfections though. A tattoo of a raven graces his back. The setting is a large full blue moon, a single cloud at the base of the moon, and a sitting raven with a deep red eye on the cloud. This tattoo takes up all of his upper back. Over his lower back is a tattoo of a butterfly done in a tribal style His skin is also very soft to the touch, but is also abnormally cold. Not freezing like Death, but not exactly alive either.
His hair is an odd platinum color. He was just born that way. It is not a shiny gray, or a glossy white. It is legitimately platinum. He keeps his hair cut short, sometimes letting it grow out so he can form two small ponytails from it. The color of his hair and the shape of his bangs only adds to the mystery of his eyes. It makes them seem deeper and darker than they really are, but you'd only ever notice if you caught him in a room with poor lighting.
His body is tallish (around 5 foot 11) and he weighs around 136lbs. He is a tad underweight, but he goes in cycles. He will put on anywhere from 3-5 pounds, and then lose it. This is so that he never really has any hindering problems with his underweight status. One can tell when he is gaining weight because of his personality (see the Personality section) While he is quite lithe, he does have evidence of muscle. This evidence he doesn't let show though. If he were to let it show, one would see that he has muscles on his arms, chest, stomach, and legs, but they are not bulging. They are not very defined either, but should he flex it would become obvious.
When he is in the Human World under a Gigai, his outfits vary. He crafts very exotic clothing for these trips, and has been known to sometimes dress like that in his own office with his haori on top.
Personality:
As one could imagine from his general look, Raven is stoic in appearance and so they'd assume he'd be stoic in personality. They would be right if they knew him as a Shinigami. Since leaving the Soul Society he has lightened up...sort of. He's become more playful and lazy...more like a feline. Because of this, most people assume he is to weaker than he really is.
As far as his treatment of people is concerned he hates them to be blunt. He despises the association that comes with living because he hates that the MAJORITY of people he will meet will be ruled by emotion over reason. Of course this comes from his own feelings on content while he is feeling nothing (a bit of an oxymoron but the point is still the same). And so to people who first meet him, they will see a distance, lazy, cold, and all around rejecting man. He will not hesitate to deny someone the time of day, and he will not lend a hand to those around him if they have not demonstrated the desire to help themselves.
While in a diplomatic situation though yet again another "mask" is donned. Suddenly no longer is he lazy or have this bored expression on his face (sometimes), but he seems to double in his cold nature, zeroing in on his "enemy's" weakness and picking at it until it becomes a fatal flaw. If he finds himself on the losing side of things, then he will simply accept this loss but make sure the person (or people) fall along with him.
There is also a more aggressive side. Now, this is where things get a bit...off. When in his usual stoic mode, he is thoughtful enough in terms of thinking, not in terms of kindness. When he is aggressive, his thought process increases even more. He is deadlier when aggressive than when "sane" Which can be traced back to his past. This critical thinking he posses in this stage is the worst situation for anyone to be in. The adrenaline in his system assists him in moving faster, hitting harder, and reacting quicker. That coupled with his knowledge of the body, and his skill, makes stage 1 of aggression very deadly. Stage 2 is fifty percent emotion, and fifty percent thought. Once he reaches Stage 3 his aggression is similar to everyone else's. It is all emotion, and while he does have a thought process, it's nothing near as critical to Stage 1. It's more like everyone else's. He's aware of what he's doing, he knows what they are doing, but he just wants to achieve his end.
Nicknames:
La Volpe - "The Fox" Which is odd considering his "feline nature" This name was given to him in the Onmitsukido for specializing in stealth.
Likes:
- Reading - It's very relaxing to him, and he loves to learn things. Knowledge is power, and he stands by this firmly.
- Writing poetry - It is also relaxing to him. He loves to express his thoughts in this manner, and by talking to him one can see that he will use his poetic license often.
- Practicing Hakuda - He likes this because he cannot do still meditation. He can't. He gets anxious when he does. So he does active meditation, and he will teach this skill to anyone else whom studies with him.
- Speaking with his Zanpakuto...sometimes - His zanpakuto is as cryptic and coy as those two things will get. It annoys the hell out of him, but it also educates him. As stated before, he believes that knowledge is power. While his zanpakuto does not know everything, his knowledge far surpasses Raven's.
- Fighting (as long as it is justified) - This goes back to Hakuda, but the justification part is because he will not kill without a reason (which is odd considering his Division) but he knows how to torment someone until they ask for death...at which point he will grant it.
- Study of the human mind... - Knowledge is power. He enjoys knowing more and more about how people think, about how they act, their reasoning, their everything. He loves the mind as much as he hates it.
Dislikes:
- Idiots - They make his life far more difficult than need be. They ask ridiculous questions with the most simple of answers...all the time. Which bothers the hell out of Raven.
- Those with the inability to listen to reason - He cannot stand those that do not listen to both sides of the story. He hates people who will only have it be their way or no way at all. He finds such actions pretentious and arrogant.
- People who WON'T stand up for themselves. - He believes that if you won't stand up for yourself, then he shouldn't either. Helping yourself starts with you, if you won't go the extra mile, he won't go an extra step.
- Arrancar / Vasto Lordes / Adjucha (not standard Hollow...) - Hollow are beats (in his mind) whom have no thought process. They run on instincts alone, and thus should not be hated for that. They are merely doing what they know they should do. Anything above a Gillian though is where he has a problem. For they have thoughts, they have desires, they are beasts yes, but they can choose whether or not to be beasts or not. He cannot understand why they would choose to be beasts over intelligent beings.
- People who act before they think - This traces back to idiots. He hates those that run with a half-baked plan into a situation. He doesn't care what situation it is, whether it's touching something scalding hot with your bare hands because you thought you could handle it, or running into a warzone without actually assessing the situation...he doesn't care.
- 11th Division / Anybody whom holds the title "Kenpachi" - To him they are no better than beasts. And beasts deserve to be put down. But he will not do it, nor will he be the cause of it. He just won't shed a tear if it happens, nor will he care enough to attempt to reserve it (assuming such a method existed)
Habits/quirks:
- Speaking with metaphors.
- Purposefully ignoring questions (only done when he feels the asker can figure it out for themself)
- Tapping his finger on his hip to the sound of a beat in his head.
- He makes it a habit to not trust anyone...friendship status or not.
Ex-Rank: Captain
Ex-Division: 2
Specialties:
He can quickly process information given to him (be it actively given or he picked up bits here and there) to achieve an answer at a rapid rate and with minimal information. The process is quick enough that he often overlooks the fact that he has the answer to a question that he just asked. (this is possible because of how the human mind works.)
History:
Childhood
- Spoiler:
- Raven was born in a home that was less than accommodating to his needs, but one that also furthered his desire to learn. It drove him to desire knowledge because it was only when he was learning that he felt safe. In the folds of a book, lost within the lines of literature of authors whom have been (or had been) long since dead, he found the love and affection his family never showed him. He found the ability to express himself as he never could before.
Born to a family of tailors he was expected to take up the family business. What did this mean? Lots and lots of practice with tailoring, little to no social life, and because of this he grew up not exactly sure how to handle some situations. But he quickly found that through expression of emotions he would not obtain anything. This is what caused him to obtain his usual stoic nature. Of course this nature didn’t carry over into death, but it was felt easier, but that’s a different part of the story.
His parents were not very aware of his loathing for making clothing, despite his natural talent for it, but they were aware that he has a talent for it. They used him to obtain more and more money. They would tell the entire town of their amazing son, and force him (via bribery of food) to fix their clothing, or make them clothes. If he did it on time, he was fed. If he didn’t keep up, he’d go without food until he was caught up. Cruel and semi-unusual, but it was his childhood all the same.
Teenage
- Spoiler:
- When it became very clear to Raven that his parents were not going to throw in the towel just because he didn’t like or agree with their way of parenting, he gave in. He just silently accepted their form of “parenting” of course he got an education as well, but he never knew what it meant to have a friend. He never knew what it meant to have fun. In fact, “fun” and “joy” were emotions he only experienced before his fine motor skills kicked in. He wouldn’t feel them again until he died.
As Raven neared his eleventh birthday he began to notice things. He wouldn’t see anything fearful (at the time) just…things. He’d see the wavy lines of a Hollow (he did not know what it was at first) and dismiss it as heat waves. But when he began seeing them more frequently his parents dismissed it as stress and allowed him a break…A whole two days away from work. Then they threw him back. Their birthday gift for him was the ability to work on a cloak for a very important noble. He did it and got a cut of the profit. Which wasn’t a bad deal…but he still hated it.
It was also during these years that his family life started to decline drastically. It started with slower business. As more and more tailors moved into town, business began to seek out other people with lower prices. This brought stress onto the family, and, by extension, daily beatings over the smallest things to Raven.
Death
- Spoiler:
- Raven died on his fifteenth birthday. Nothing fancy happened. There wasn’t a hollow attack. There wasn’t a robbery. No. It was a simple desire from a furious mother, and a pissed off father.
As stated before, his family’s business was failing slowly. By the time Raven was thirteen there were virtually no people. Only those who wanted rushed creations or quick fixes at cheap prices went to them. The richer families, and even the poorer ones, sought out others. Raven’s family just wasn’t top dog anymore, and his mother and father didn’t handle rejection very well. As a result of their lack of business, Raven was made to clean every single day. They would dirty up spots just to get him to clean. They would starve him until the floors, walls, stairs, desks, machines, cabinets, and anything else they could think of, was clean.
On one particular day (one day before his 15th birthday to be exact) they were out at the market gathering food. They came back to the house to find that everything had been ruined, reduced to nothing but ash. Raven’s parents blamed him and when they found relatives to stay with, they made sure to leave Raven on the streets waiting for death. His father had broken two of his ribs (one of which punctured his lung so he was slowly drowning) and his mother just watched in silent fury. It took a little under 4 hours or him to die at midnight…happy birthday Raven.
Rukongai
- Spoiler:
- Upon first being a spirit, it didn’t take long to get sent to the Rukongai. A Shinigami just happened to be present at the point of death when soul separated from body. He was sent to the Rukongai’s 30th District. Not bad for there being well over 100 districts. But crime was still an issue. He had little memory of his human life, and what he did retain was quickly fading from view. The only thing that remained was his stoic nature. Whenever he felt emotions welling up, he’d get nervous and instantly shut down to revert back to his stoic state. It was just basic instinct. He couldn’t help it, it just felt right. He was in a new place, with new people, and was beat up every day. He was going to do whatever he could to feel “safe”
As stated, he was beat up every day. A group of kids made it their priority to beat up on people who entered the Ruokongai, under their own age of course, whom couldn’t defend themselves. Raven was one of those unlucky people who felt their wrath. He dealt with it though by accepting the beatings without crying. This only served to piss them off more.
A few years after constant beatings Raven decided he’d had enough. He couldn’t take it anymore. For some reason the thought of beating someone up like that without a cause seemed wrong to him. It felt personal to him and he hated that. He hated the feelings it brought up, and so he planned on ending it. Three of the five boys came up to his shack and kicked open the door. He looked at them as they neared him. A battle followed with Raven stepping up to plate and fighting back furiously. He was surprised with how well he did. But really he just remembered what they did and struck when he saw the chance as opposed to moving in any particular style.
The boys didn’t exactly like this, and so they came back with all five of them. The two whom hadn’t come before were the leader and the lieutenant. The leader opened up with a series of blows to Raven’s torso. The boy wasn’t able to defend himself and fell over, tripping on his own legs. From this position on his back, Raven discovered that he actually had great leg strength when he delivered a full power kick to the attacker’s jaw. He heard the bones break, and quickly scrambled to his feet while the assailant was dazed. The lietenant came after Raven and finished the job.
Raven lay there and a Shinigami entered his house as the boy’s left. He looked down at the kid and sighed. ”Come on…” and he introduced him to the Shinigami Academy.
Shinigami Academy
- Spoiler:
- The Shinigami told him that he was in the 2nd Division. The only reason he didn’t step in was because he wanted to see what Raven could do. He saw that Raven had a rather high reiatsu and was pretty good with coming up with strategy on the spot for someone who had never fought before. He offered Raven a chance to escape the Rukongai and join the Shinigami ranks. All he had to do was go to school. At first Raven was against it. He didn’t want to. But the 2nd Division member pointed out all the horridness of the Rukongai and Raven had to agree. He decided it would be best if he did enter the Academy. The worst that could happen would be he didn’t make it past graduation.
The Academy was an odd place. From day one Raven got abnormal looks from people. It wasn’t his hair no. While it was an odd color, it was hardly “bully worthy” What it was was his inability to connect to his emotions. He had spent so much time in this “stoic state” that he forgot what it meant to have emotions. Of course he smiled, but it never reached his eyes. He cried, but his lips never changed. His eyebrows touched in anger, but his face was always smooth. No matter what “emotion” he tried for, there was always a flaw that gave away the fact that he wasn’t really feeling it. It was also this strange ability that got him attention from the Onmitsukido. Of course, they had yet to see what he could do, so there would be no invitation to him just yet.
Out of all of his classes it was Hakuda and Shunpo that he managed the best. Zanjutsu and Kido picked up second place. If you looked at a very very detailed graft, one would see that the four classes are rather close together. Shunpo and Hakuda are his highest, quickly followed by Zanjutsu which is just ahead of Kido. But no matter how you look at it, Hakuda and Shunpo are the best.
He practiced every day he could. Before his first year was up, he had already pulled far ahead of his classmates in Shunpo and Hakuda, but was third best in Zanjutsu, and fifth in Kido. He could always be found in the practice fields, training his Kido to be better and better. He was only as strong as his worst subject, and while he’d never shun any other classes, he put more effort into Kido.
By the end of his first year, he was top student in Shunpo and Hakuda. He was second in Zanjutsu. And he was third in Kido. This trend kept up for 3 years in total. By his third year, the Onmitsukido decided they wanted him. He showed a determination and detachment that was perfect for the group. Upon his graduation in the third year of the Academy, they picked him up and he continued his lessons there. This proved to be a whole new struggle in and of itself…
It was also at this time that he met his Zanpakuto Spirit. The spirit annoyed Raven greatly. Not because of how he acted or what he was, but because he was so much like Raven and yet they were worlds apart. It bothered him that he spoke differently. It bothered him that he rarely gave a straight answer. But he also bathed in this coyness. He loved his cryptic knowledge. He sought it out whenever he could. Their relationship grew within a quick amount of time, and it wasn’t long before Raven released his Shikai for the first time and left the Academy behind.
Onmitsukido
- Spoiler:
- Raven all the sudden wasn’t top dog anymore. He heard of them of course. Everybody knew who the Onmitsukido were. But few people would ever experience them as he had. Few people (in the long run) would actually BE there. Raven had been top of his class by a long shot. He could shunpo circles around them all and still not be tired. But here…he’d be lucky if he could get 10 feet in front of them. Kido suddenly took a back seat. Here, it didn’t matter in the long run. It mattered about as much as the color of an apple matters to a starving man.
It was back to square one with him. People in the Onmitsukido seemed as emotionless as he did though so it wasn’t too bad. He got weird looks of course, and the occasional torment, but he didn’t get bullied or anything like at the Academy. But nobody really offered him help either. If he wanted help, he’d only get it in the field and trough the field he would be in a life or death situation…the only help he had was him.
He didn’t complain though. His lack of skill in comparison to others only served to make him more determined. He worked day in and day out, and this was the start of his weight issue. He stopped eating for a while, and then began to eat the bare minimum. His sacrifice in weight did allow him more traning time. This extra time gave him the practice he needed to become faster, stronger, and quicker, than he was before. Finally he began rising within the ranks of the Onmitsukido. But he was still far from where he wanted to be. He still needed to try harder.
Raven went on his first real assignment when he was a 10th seat. He wasn’t alone of course, but he was a part of something bigger than himself finally. Their mission was rather simple. The team simply had to go to the human world to investigate reports of the appearance of a rogue Shinigami. He went with his own subteam, again he wasn’t in charge he just was a part of the team, but that is where things went wrong.
The team he was confronted by the Shinigami in question. Raven was the first to give out the signal to the other teams, but they were all taken apart before backup could arrive. Raven survived only because he managed to lead the Shinigami into a trap lain for him by the Lieutenant. Raven didn’t help his teammates, and he beat himself up for that for a long long time…But he eventually he learned not to blame himself but to blame them. They all knew the plan…Raven’s job was not to protect them…that was THEIR job…
Captaincy
- Spoiler:
- Years and years after that incident Raven saw what it meant to be part of the 2nd Division and, more importantly, the Onmitsukido. He understood finally why they were a force to be reckon with without having the same sense of teamwork that other Divisions, and people in general, had. He continued his training and rose through the ranks to observe this lesson first hand. Of course he had heard the lesson many many times. But there was a difference between knowing and understanding.
The original captain watched Raven’s progress with an apathetic heart. All the while the others watched him with envious spirits. Raven’s Zanpakuto Spirit helped him to progress by offering anything but encouraging words. The scornful and hateful words only pushed Raven to go further. The Spirit was incredibly convincing though and there was a period where he truly believed even his own Spirit had turned his back on him. But even this didn’t stop Raven. If his Spirit wasn’t satisfied then that must mean he just had to try harder, and he would.
Three hundred years of hard work, feelings of neglect from his Zanpakuto, and the envy of others allowed him to finally see a Lieutenant seat. It was at this point in time that his captain began to show any real emotion to the boy. It wasn’t really anything severe, but their relationship became something like the distant father figure who encouraged him boy from the shadows kind of thing. Raven appreciated it and worked hard for his captain and for the Onmitsukido.
Raven had discovered his Bankai while he was in the real world going through his usual nighttime training and hollow slaying. His Spirit had told him that “The time had come…” in a very cliché manner, and took Raven into his inner world. His spirit gave him no time to think, no time to move, rather he immediately attacked. The fight that followed was a losing fight until Raven finally managed to gain the upper hand by moving in harmony with his Spirit. The battle ended shortly after Raven became attuned to the Spirit’s movements.
Though he had learned Bankai he refused to release this information. They were looking for a new Captain for the 10th Division, but Raven wanted to stay with the Onmitsukido. So the 10th Division suffered some, bit deal. He knew what he wanted and had to do and he’d do it. The Captain of the Onmitsukido had his suspicions of Raven’s secret but he had no proof to back it up, and so Raven’s Bankai went unnoticed.
The Captain of Squad 2 was elderly but not meant to be mistaken for a fool. He also loved the Soul Society more than anything in his life. Despite his constant insisting that he did, being in the Onmitsukido came with a certain…image. Nobody believed the old man until he turned himself in. It seemed that for the past three hundred years, long before him and Raven got “close”, he had been having anarchist thoughts and feelings. He despised the Captain Commander and the King. He had began thinking that they were both going to betray them all. He felt he had to kill them first. But he couldn’t. If he did, Soul Society would fall. He had to bide his time, he had to wait. All this he confessed to Raven. Why? Because he had nominated him to become the Second Division Captain when he was captured and taken away. Raven was confused at first, but when several other captains appeared in the Second Division barracks the captain attacked. No captain dared to interrupt the fight. The boys were going at it, but even to on lookers there was more here than just a simple fight. This was a test.
Raven came out on top but he refused to kill the captain. Not out of mercy or sympathy. HE didn’t kill him because he was still useful. He could still house information that Raven may need one day. As his first action as temporary captain, he escorted the old man to the Maggot’s Nest.
As he still had yet to show his Bankai, he couldn’t officially be captain. He knew he had to show it now or forever hold his peace. He requested the ability to take the Captaincy Exam and upon releasing his Bankai, passed and was officially the 2nd Division Captain / Leader of the Onmitsukido. Oddly enough though, in the entire time of having his zanpakuto, he never once used it’s abilities. He has used some of his Shikai abilities here and there, yes. But Bankai was used purely for Hakuda.
Hollowfication
- Spoiler:
- Raven proved himself to be a captain whom could be trusted as well as looked up to. He proved to be a force to be feared as well. The coldness he could display in the meeting room as well as on the battlefield, the ferocity with which he attacked enemies and traitors to the Soul Society. It was all something to admire and fear as well.
But all good things must come to an end and these times were no exception. Raven loved what he did. He was good at it too. Several people had challenged his right to lead, and several people were beaten nearly to death because they refused to give in. Raven was indeed very skilled in leadership abilities as well as combat and diplomatic settings. The Shinigami Captain seemed to know exactly what he was doing. But nobody is perfect, and this man was no exception.
He felt incomplete. He felt like something vital was missing. Was it a person? Was it a thing? Was it power? He didn’t know, but he wanted it to stop. It kept him up at night. It gave him bad dreams when he slept. It made it impossible for him to function as he should in the privacy of his own chambers. He couldn’t handle this. He decided what he needed was to kill. He needed to kill until he died alive. He needed to kill until he was a husk of what he once was. It was the only way for him to be rid of this.
The captain went out for a straight week, slaughtering any and all Hollow he could find. It was during an unusually massive Hollow strike that things took a turn for the worst. ”Ah! A Shinigami…a Captain no less, am I mistaken?” Raven stood in the middle of the street having bested several Gillians. He looked up to the source to see a Quincy standing there. He didn’t have time to deal with their self righteous beliefs. The pair fought almost as if on cue. During the fight though the Quincy continued to call the Shinigami an “experiment” and would say “You’ll die despite my death here today.” It all confused Raven but he ignored it…until he was stabbed by a needle. Raven proceeded with a quick butterfly kick to the Quincy’s neck. There was enough force in the kick to snap it.
Raven never gave the Quincy a second thought, but he did think about that injection. What was it? He shook his head as his vision blurred. He didn’t feel so good. His head was spinning, his body felt weak. His vision began to narrow into tunnel vision as well. He swore silently as he hit the ground. His world was swallowed by darkness, his only company was the beating of his heart, and soon even that faded until nothing was there with him…
Before him in the darkness stood a man with black and white hair who seemed to be sitting on nothing. His legs were crossed right over left, his elbow was resting on what Raven assumed to be the arm of a chair, and his chin was propped up on his palm. He The male’s eyes were a deep purple to his blue. The male’s outfit was comprised of a black sleeveless vest, white fur collar, and a pair of black pants. His finger tapped on his cheek. ”No…this is just…no…” He rolled his eyes a bit and sighed. With a wave of his hand the male showed Raven that they were in his Zanpakuto’s Inner World. The two males had a conversation followed by a short battled. (RP sample will be this) At the end of it the unnamed male sighed and shook his head. With another wave of his hand the stranger sent Raven back to the “real”
Exodus
- Spoiler:
- From that moment on, Raven lived his life in fear (until recently). He didn’t know what was going on with him. He felt different though, and at times even more aggressive. He began to wonder what exactly was going on with him. Others seemed to notice that something was wrong with him though. They would be cautious around him at first. It began with the tension in one’s muscles. It then escalated to people speaking quickly so as to avoid long meetings with him. Then it shifted into avoidance. It ended with a full on investigation o his barracks. He was under the suspicion of housing a Hollow. Raven was outraged with this accusation. With no proof that he was, and none that he wasn’t, he defied this order and refused to let anyone see his barracks.
Of course this went over about as well as could be expected. He lost all say in the matter and upon the search he hurried them out. He was not happy with the investigation. He couldn’t believe that he was ever under investigation. He killed Hollow, he didn’t sneak them in and hide them. After the investigation though he became more and more violent, but with each time he became violent, he saw that strange man. He visited his Spirit’s world but he wasn’t there. Raven was getting irritated by it. The new male’s voice echoed in his dreams and in his head. He wanted it gone, he wanted his Spirit back, he just wanted to fill a void that was in his being. That hole was gone, but now he felt like there was too much.
Over the course of a decade, the Stranger’s visits became more and more frequent and he became more and more seductive in the sense that he liked to see Raven’s emotions flare. He liked to push Raven’s button. He would jab a dagger into an open would and twist it over and over until Raven bled out. His Exodus began when the Stranger made his move on the weakened spirit of Raven.
The captain was out in the Rukongai as he had gotten used to doing. At the worst of the worst place he could find without having to spend too much energy. He liked this place because it was so shitty and horrible. It reminded him of a life he couldn't remember, and a life he didn't want to remember. It was when he sighed that he felt his throat closing up. He couldn’t breathe. His heart began to race. His body moved and he clawed at his closed throat. Something was coming up. His head was pulsing as well. His head was throbbing as if it were going to burst. He rolled out onto the floor and struggled to stand. He felt like a giant was standing on his back. Whatever was closing up his throat built up and he vomited it forth, clearing his airway for just a moment. What came out his mouth wasn’t vomit but a white substance that tasted like plaster.
The plaster fell out of his mouth, but quickly turned up and latched itself to his face. This pain, this feeling, felt awful. He knew what was going on. He was turning into a Hollow. But he would not allow this to happen. He wouldn’t turn into such a beast. He let out a groan of pain as piercing detest for whatever was going on ravaged his body. It wasn’t his own though, the groan that is. It was gargled and mixed with someone else’s. The mask continued to move over him and he was once again taken into his Spirits Inner World.
There the stranger stood with a smirk. He explained to him what was going on and said that sooner or later Raven would be under his control. The Shinigami would not allow that to happen. The two engaged in combat, at which point the stranger revealed that he too had a Zanpakuto like Raven’s. The two fought a fierce fight in the Inner World. Meanwhile, Raven’s body was running around the Soul Society with a half formed mask on his face. His breathing was quick and bestial. His eyes in the mask were glowing a vicious purple. He stalked the Soul Society without purpose or detection for 4 minutes. Meanwhile, the two men were fighting for possession of his body.
At the end of the fight Raven won and the male simply bowed formally. ”Chaton…” He grinned up at Raven before fading and Raven snapped back to life in his body. His face was covered by a mask. He had to get out of the Soul Society. His reiatsu was radiating Hollow reiatsu right now. He used all of his talents to disable the guards at the Sekigate and leave into the Human World.

- For the past two hundred years Raven has existed in the Human World. He’s had little to no contact with the Shinigami. He keeps up his Onmitsukido training every single day. He may not lead the 2nd Division anymore, but you never truly stopped being apart of it. You never truly left the Onmitsukido. He hunts Hollow as well as Quincy, determined to track down what happened to him and why they did it.
Role Play Sample:
Raven sat on a building top in the Human World. He thought back to his life and he didn't know how to feel. He had all this power, but no where to go with it. He had escaped with nothing but the outfit he wore that night. His Shinigami outfit hung somewhere in the small little hideout he'd made for himself. As he sat there the image of Chaton came to him. The inner Hollow was smiling and had his arms folded. "Lo siento, chico...I was convinced that you WANTED more power. You did feel empty didn't you? You felt like something was missing, non?" The Vizard just stared at the Hollow and said nothing. "You cannot honestly be mad that this happened...I'd dare to say that you and the Spirit are closer than you have been before because of me...which is always good, right?" Raven side and laid down. The Inner Hollow just chuckled and left the man be.
The ex-captain lay there for a moment and just thought. He touched his Zanpakuto. The cool metallic surface of it's sheath felt good on his skin. It was relatively cold out, but the feel of the case felt nice...reassuring almost. Raven wore a white tee shirt that clung to his lithe and muscled body. Over that he wore a long black trench coat that easily touched his ankles. The coat was tight on his arms and torso area as well. His pants were a blue pair of acid wash jeans. His footwear was a pair of black combat boots. Combat boots were a bit awkward to run in, but he managed just fine. The Vizard summoned his mask but didn't put it on. He just looked at the feline shape and design of it. It seemed so unreal, but at the same time he couldn't help but smile. It was wrong...this mask was a sign of evil...And yet...He got a kick out of it. The feel of the mask on his face, the power it released within him. To think that all Shinigami had powers like this dormant inside of them, to put it simply, and vice versa...it was just unbelievable for him.
The Vizard just shook his head and smiled. He was over thinking this. Who was he to question this gift? He rolled back and landed in a four-point position. He donned the mask and let out a roar that sounded something like a panther. His body felt wonderful when he had this mask donned. It was a new him, but he was still in control. He ran on all fours to the edge of the building and leaped off. He had some Hollows to kill.

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
I'm troubled... Your persona is missing ton load of shit and doesn't work with your history. I mean, why did he want power? Explain that in your persona. Your likes all do not match up. Nowhere did you say for example that you were a bit of a jackass to beasts or 11th Division members. Your Exodus thing. He escaped detection for 30 minutes? How was that possible? Your reiatsu would be through the charts not to mention mixed with hollow reiatsu. Also, you'd go about destroying things. And how did your character survive if he was noticed? I mean. I know when you're hollow shit you're epic and all, but against the other 12 Captains? That's impossible to survive. Now, you also seem sadistic in your history. And you mentioned in your persona something about modes? Well, how come you didn't go into your 'modes' when your parents were abusing you? Or did you develop that after you were able to punch bitches? Now, the bankai shit. You said your 'spirit' neglected you for ages when you need to be able to be in sync with your zan and able to materialize it through communication. Therefore, how could you have gone bankai when your spirit and yourself barely talked with each other? Or were you able to do that when you were a weak skinny bastard?

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
He just doesn't like beasts. Simple as that. You don't need to have a bad experience with dogs to just not like them.
Apparently it is possible to evade the members of SS as Shinki and company did it. Maybe not for thirty minutes, but Central 36 didn't know what was going on out there until Aizen told them. And thus, that part is more than valid.
His anger comes out in "stages" because that's how people work. We move into full blown rage. I just specified how he does it.
His Spirit didn't truly "neglect" him, but Raven felt that it was similar to neglect in the sense that it was a "tough love" kind of thing.
And he didn't want power. It's a Hollow, and it's HIS belief that he's there simply because Raven wanted more power.

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
Add more shit to your persona. And your shit doesn't make sense anyways. And Central 36? You mean either 46 or SS, right? Anyways. YOUR REIATSU IS THROUGH THE CHARTS! IT'S HOLLOW REIATSU! WHAT KIND OF SHIT ASS PERSON DOESN'T NOTICE THAT? Moving on. You didn't mention any shit about being able to materialize or anything with your zan so yeah. Assumed it. Your personality seems quite lacking compared to your incredible description of appearance. Fix all that.

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
46, 36, whatever. The fact of the matter is you had SEVEN Captains and Lts out there all of which were turning into a Hollow and one who WAS Hollowfied. Not one person from Soul Society knew about this UNTIL Aizen came back and said "Oh hey guys, by the way. Urahara was doing some crazy ish out there." This means that during the process of changing either your Shinigami reiatsu is still dominate and thus overpowers the building Hollow reiatsu to the point of not being noticed, or there isn't any reiatsu to be sensed while you fight for your life. Personally? I believe the former. And with that, and being avoided by people to begin with, being alone for 30 minutes would be perfectly fine. Especially after he won.
And I added more as you...requested.

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
Technically, it doesn't matter if Central 46 knows or not. I was talking about the captains? Cause it may surprise you to know, but Central 46 members aren't all powerful former captains that can sense reiatsu. THEY PROBABLY CAN'T EVEN SENSE A CAPTAIN'S REIATSU WHEN USING BANKAI. They dunno the difference basically. Now, you were in SS while those people being hollowfied were somewhere else far away and there were captains near the place, so SS captains probably thought " We need to think up a strategy then scaddadle" or something like that. But you were in SS. I seriously believe they would arrive faster than if you were in Rukongai.

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
But what I'm saying is Central 46 didn't know, yes? Which means nobody told them, riiight? Which means the captains didn't know. If their reiatsu was Hollow and "through the charts" I'm sure they would have requested more than just Aizen and two other non-captains to go there. Fact of the matter is, something more goes on that we aren't away of. Simple. As. That. But, request is it be within the Rukongai, then c'est la vie, non?

Another thing. Since you are in the SS, you will destroy everything. Reiatsu doesn't matter, but everyone will notice if a creep is destroying shit. And it's not like everyone is asleep with sand in their eyes.

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
So noted. Is there a request for change in there?
And, do keep in mind that certain sectors of the Rukongai aren't as well protected as the others. Hollows can attack in the Rukongai and get away with it. Why? Because there are over 300 districts. I don't think I have to tell you that the farther away from the Seireitei you get, the worse the conditions get, no? Not to mention that Shinigami don't have an official patrol unit or anything for the Rukongai anyway. So, blowing shit up out there isn't that big of a deal. Is it a problem? Sure. But judging by how far away he is I'd be willing to bet he wouldn't really be sensed or if he did it would be a faint reading and one hardly worth investigating as it is so far out there. Which means you now have the speed of the people to rely on for getting what's going on there, back to the Shinigami all the way at the Seireitei...

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
Ahem. They are spread out and don't you think your division members would notice you going wild and be suspicious? Following you? And 30 minutes? Not unless you were intentionally trying to hide, while when Ichigo and the others were trying to avoid them, but hollows don't have minds and therefore you won't avoid battle and be spotted. Boom, captains arriving hearing there is this super epic hollow that killed people. Also gotta question. I am assuming you are going to be the Vizard leader?

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
Again. He was being avoided for the most part, and he's a competent fighter obviously. Not to mention that such worry is looked down upon in th 2nd Division. AND the original Vizards were in a forest just outside the Rukongai. The distance between them and the Seireitei could be the same as Raven's and still, nobody would sense him. Not to mention that when he left the Seireitei he was fine. He didn't start changing until he was deep into the Rukongai. As for the need for battle, there's people around to kill and things to blow up. Even as a beast there's no need to go out of it's way for blood when it's in front of you.
I also dropped the time because I forgot that all the white your body is changing and after 7 minutes you turn hollow. That was my fault. And I suppose I'll shoot for leader.

Okay, I don't care anymore. Moving on. In your persona, you talk about stages. You do know you technically don't get stronger or anything, right? You're just a crazy dude. So you don't push your limits cause of a psychological problem. Other than that, I guess you're alright for leader.

Re: Raven Hollowcroft
*sighs*
You're not getting it. It's a DETAILED ANALYSIS of his anger. Where as most people just say "This happens when he get mad. And he gets mean and blah blah blah." I went into DETAIL about it, explaining specifically what happens. I never once said he gets unbelievably stronger or whatever. I mentioned the side effects of adrenaline which is quite true that it enhances one's body, but aside from that I never overplayed anything. *shrugs*
